Best method or program to "Track" shows |
I'm looking for a program that can take a 1-2 hour .wav file break it up into individual .wav tracks then to FLAC, so after the FLAC files are uncompressed and burned to an audio CD, the show is seamless. The method I describe below works, but I end up using a CDR or two to get the initial .wav file split into individual tracks. Help? or is this the best method?
After I record a show, I end up with a 1 to 2 hour .wav file. I've been using Nero Burning rom and going into the properties of the .wav in Nero. Under Index, Limit's, & Split I split the wav up and burn it to a CDR. Then rip the CD into individual "Tracks" (.wav) files and convert them to the FLAC format to be uploaded to Archive.org. This alows the end user to burn the files to Audio CDs for a seamless show. I freakin hate having a small pause between tracks on a live CD. Just a very big pet peve of mine.
Thanks;
Jim

Re: Best method or program to 'Track' shows |
Just wanted to thank you again for suggesting "CD Wave Editor", it worked perfectly, just a quick question, do you reccomend using the FLAC converter included in "CD Wave Editor", I'm currently using FLAC Frontend 1.7.1 by Speek which is also a great program.
Thanks Again;
Jim

Re: Best method or program to 'Track' shows |
cdwave is not "free for all to use". there is a $15 registration fee. the fact that the author is kind enough not to enforce it does not erase one's obligation to help support the effort. if you use this program, please consider registering. it's a small amount of money, and if everyone likes the program so much, they should be willing to support it.

Re: Best method or program to 'Track' shows |
Hi, You are absolutely right in saying that we should support this program. I was wrong in saying "that it is free for all to use". Hopefully everyone that uses this great program will show there support for it. Thanks for pointing that out!
